How to Repair an Elevated Sandmound
Excessive bio-mat is the result of an excessive amount of bacteria growing on the aggregate and sand surface. The bacteria and the cells of dead bacteria create a film that closes off the pores between the sand particles. This is often found in conjunction with an excessive amount of organic matter getting into the sandmound.
