How to Build an Elevated Sandmound Sewage Disposal System
Using the plans that are part of the permit, locate the area in which the elevated sandmound is to be sited. Stake out the absorption (aggregate) area. The size and shape will be noted on the plans. In most cases, the absorption area will be rectangular in shape. However, in rare cases, the absorption area may be triangular, L-shaped, or another shape. For purposes of this program, we will presume that the absorption area is rectangular.
