How to Build an Elevated Sandmound Sewage Disposal System
Some plans require the installation of lateral cleanouts. Otherwise, lateral cleanouts are optional. To construct a lateral cleanout, replace the end cap with an elbow or a 45 degree pipe fitting. Add enough pipe to bring the lateral end above grade. (If extended higher than needed, it can be cut back later.) Then cap the lateral. The final hole is then drilled in the bottom of the elbow or 45 degree fitting.
