How to Build an Elevated Sandmound Sewage Disposal System
Key Points:
--- The sand must meet PennDOT specifications and be taken from a certified stockpile. Certification slips will be required.
--- Sand must be placed to the side and bucketed onto the site. Do not drive sand trucks onto the scarified area or the permit will be revoked.
--- Work only from the ends of the system that are on the same contour as the system. Working upslope is permitted but should be limited. Never work from the down slope side.
--- If the site must be driven on, there must be at least 12 inches of sand under the machine. Light weight tracked machines are preferred.
--- If part of the sand is compacted, compact the rest of the pile.
