SEWAGE DEPARTMENT TRAINING PROGRAM

How to Build an Elevated Sandmound Sewage Disposal System

The perimeter of the sand pile should be flared to a 2 to 1 or 50%slope.  That is, for every foot of elevation change, the pile extends out two feet.

For example, if the sand pile is four feet high in one corner, the sand would be graded out 8 feet from that corner.

When the sand pile has been placed, it should be raked smooth.  The top of the pile should be as level as possible.
