Road Weight Limits Go into Effect

To preserve the Township Roads from the effects of heavy trucks driving over the frost heaved pavement, the Dingman Township Board of Supervisors has imposed a 10 ton weight limit on Township owned Roads.  The weight limit takes effect February 18th and shall stay in effect until further notice.

Allowing heavy vehicles to travel on frost heaved roads creates potholes and causes the surface to break up.  This results in major road repair expenses at a cost to the taxpayers.

Residents needing to transport vehicles that are over 10 tons in weight should contact Jim Snyder, Dingman Township Roadmaster (570-296-2140) to discuss the possibility of a waiver.  Waivers will only be granted when weather conditions allow such for the particular road on the particular day.
