PLANNED TELEPHONE OUTAGE

Pike County 911 has been contacted by Verizon they are planning on making changes to the Verizon switch in Log Tavern, Dingman Twp. There will be an outage of landline phone service in the eastern portion of the county. They are planning this for Monday February 27 at 11:30 pm. The outage should last about one half to one hour.

The following areas will be impacted:
Matamoras, Westfall, Milford Boro, Milford Twp, Dingman, Delaware, the 828 exchange portion of Lehman and the 559 portion of Shohola. Phone customers will not have dial tone on Verizon landline phones in these areas during the outage. Verizon wireless should work however Verizon could not be sure of the other wireless carriers however those carriers have been notified of this outage and did not indicate they would be without service.

The Pike County 911 Center will be able to answer landline 911 calls from the other areas of Pike County and from cell and voice over IP phone customers throughout the entire County. The Pike County 911 non emergency number of 570 296-7700 will be effected because of the outage however the number 570 775-1911 will be operational.
