2021 Electronics Recycling Day a Great Success

Despite it raining through the entire event, over 250 people turned out to dispose of their unwanted computers, televisions, and other electronic devices. Over 20.7 tons of such items were collected and hauled to the appropriate recycling centers.

Like previous years the event was free to Dingman Township Residents. However, unlike the past, this year's event was co-sponsored by Delaware Township with the Delaware Township Board of Supervisors paying their resident's share.  Residents of other municipalities were also permitted to participate for a small fee.

Recycling of electronic items is important in keeping heavy metals and chemicals out of the state's landfills.  The rare earth minerals in many electronic items are reused which is preferable to the mining that must otherwise take place to obtain them.
